Bridging The Gap In The Translation Lifecycle

Both content management systems and translation management systems are excellent at managing the workflow of content between its internal resources as that content moves through its lifecycle. Where many systems start to fall short however, is when it comes to moving content from their own internal workflow process, and out to an external system for additional processing (and later re-importing it).

One of the most common examples of a difficult content translation workflow process is getting content out of a CMS, sending it over to a translation system, or translation provider, and then getting it back again to upload into the CMS.

Quite often this process requires a technical person to complete it and this the results in merely having files exported. This forces the content or localization manager to manually manage organizing and sending content to the translation vendors.

This gap in workflow process can quickly become a major resource drain in enterprises where there are high volumes of content for translation and quick turn around requirements. This obviously introduces many opportunities for errors and delays.

Clay Tablet fills that gap nicely by providing an integrated, intermediary, routing system, that connects disparate technologies together, and automatically manages the routing of content between them. This workflow process dilemma (gap) is easily resolved by content management systems connecting directly to Clay Tablet, allowing the immediate, automatic sending of content out for translation, as it is identified by the content editor.

Clay Tablet automatically organizes the content into packages based on the client’s routing rules and then pushes that content out to each of the required translation providers or technologies.

When Clay Tablet is integrated, it can run invisibly as a “black-box” or, using its Web-based interface, localization managers can override or manage routing rules for content.

With powerful reporting and monitoring features of Clay Tablet, enterprises can gain insight into the translation process and activities underway across their entire content infrastructure for the first time.

Applications

One-to-One
In its most simple use, Clay Tablet serves as an intermediary between two systems, allowing content managers to quickly and easily send content for translation without the need for inefficient, or unreliable manual processes.

Many-to-One / One-to-Many
In this case, Clay Tablet connects multiple sources to one vendor. It is also able to connect one CMS to multiple vendors - users can then define rules that route content to the appropriate system for translation and return content automatically upon completion.

Many-to-Many
For more complicated system interconnections, Clay Tablet supports a "many to many" configuration. Here, multiple content systems are connected to multiple vendors and/or technologies creating a seamless, secure and reliable content translation infrastructure.
