Global Communication Readiness Audit

Language Solutions has developed and is currently offering a free self assessment tool for auditing of an organization's Global Communication processes. A self-assessment audit for your global communication needs can be a valuable tool to determine your current situation, to set goals and to find areas of improvement that have the most impact. However, most assessment tools that we have seen provide solutions but do not focus on the leading indicators that impact your localization practices.

The audit provides several key questions in each Readiness area that you can answer by scoring these from 1 - 5. These questions are tied to goals that fall within a Balanced Scorecard perspective. In addition, the questions help to analyze an organization's Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. After scoring the organization, the user gets a visual snapshot of their performance within the tool from an automatic calculation of their scores in an Audit Scorecard.

Our approach not
only looks at our internal Key Performance Indicators for translation management, but also assesses how a client's processes can positively influence or negatively impact the localization process. Those are the leading indicators that a client can influence in order to improve quality, customer satisfaction, learning and growth and time-to-market at lower costs.

Our audit focuses on internal resources (departments and people) at all levels of the organization to determine how they can help improve their own processes to aid translation management on their side. We identified 4 areas of assessment (Strategic, Organizational, Content and Language & Design) and identified roles within those areas that directly impact the global communications process.

The Global Communications Readiness Audit has both an evaluative and formative value. It is evaluative in that it provides a "snapshot" of where an organization currently stands in terms of its Global Communications performance and the management of those communications. It is formative in that in also points to specific areas in which the organization can strengthen its performance.

Organizations at any level within the GCMM can choose to self-assess with our tool or work with LSI on the metrics associated with each goal. After you take the self-assessment, you will be provided with a road map of objectives within each area of assessment as well as a more detailed report on specific Opportunities and Threats.
